David Franklin has served as Frist Baptist Church Langley’s worship leader since the Spring of 2018. Accepting Jesus as his Savior in March of 1973, he grew up in a small-town church where his father pastored for several years. He started piano lessons in third grade never realizing where that God-given talent would lead. He assumed the church pianist responsibilities in high school, played for BSU noon-day services at NEO A&M and became involved in revival teams and accompanying worship in small churches. In 1987, Dave received his Bachelor of Elementary Education from Southwest Baptist University and his Masters of Elementary Administration from Northeastern State University. He received the call to music ministry in 1994 and has since led congregational worship while playing/accompanying simultaneously on the piano. At FBC Langley, he is joined by and inspirational praise team consisting of vocalists, organist, bass and acoustical guitarists, a percussionist and even a harmonica player. Our worship ministry also offers seasonal/special occasion choirs and “Fifth Sunday Sings”. Dave and his awesome wife, Laura, both teach at Cherokee Elementary School in Catoosa: he teaches 3rd-5th Grade Music and she teaches 3rd-5th Special education. They have three grown children; all married and became G’pop and Nana to two grandsons just this year. Life Verse: Proverbs 3:5-6 says, “trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not upon your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.” Let the worshippers arise!
